Acquired by Walmart in 2018, Flipkart is one of India’s leading e-commerce platforms. Founded in 2007, Flipkart started as an online bookstore and later expanded to offer a vast array of products, from electronics and fashion to groceries. Walmart’s acquisition of Flipkart marked a significant milestone in Walmart’s efforts to expand its global e-commerce footprint. With its innovative offerings, such as the annual Big Billion Days sale, Flipkart has revolutionized online shopping in India and has played a crucial role in shaping the country’s e-commerce industry.
Adrenex:
As Walmart India's private label sportswear brand, Adrenex was launched on Flipkart to cater to India’s growing demand for affordable, high-quality activewear. With over 300 products across different categories, Adrenex offers a wide range of sports and fitness gear, from apparel to accessories. Designed to make fitness accessible to everyone, Adrenex positions itself as a brand that delivers both performance and style, offering products that compete with premium brands but at mass-affordable prices.
The primary challenge was launching a brand with over 300 products in a competitive market, while addressing common pain points such as mismatched product expectations and high return rates.
